(Sold) 1951 - 1954 5-Main 327cid Engine - Rebuilt
Professionally rebuilt many years ago but never used, this 327 cid engine has been thoroughly boiled out with new freeze plugs, milled, reground cam and new bearings, reconditioned rods and crank with new bearings and pistons (+.040), new timing chain and reground valves and seats. The lifters were re-radiused and the hydraulic lifter inserts were thoroughly cleaned and tested.
Using a custom gapping tool, the valves were all properly adjusted to ensure that they open properly and close tightly without lifter gap. This process is rarely done on rebuilds so contact me if you want to know more about it but it is outlined in the Packard manuals. It also includes a re-planed head, not shown. Will actually fit and is appropriate for certain 1951, 1952, 1953 or 1954 models including the 250, Mayfair, Clipper DeLuxe, 300 and Cavalier and it has an odd engine number (N349042CAL) so was clearly a replacement engine that was stamped in California.
If you are replacing an existing engine, you can use its accessories but if your car is missing the engine, I likely have most everything needed to complete it but you will have to put in all the head studs and a couple of the manifold studs. None are broken but they are not there for some reason. You will also need to replace or straighten the dipstick tube as I see it has gotten bent slightly. Keep in mind that this rebuild was done many years ago so this description is from memory and physical external examination.
You will take care of pick up or arrange your own shipping. Be sure to see the note below. You would not be able to rebuild one for anywhere near this price!
